The Mayekawa’s new platform is a turning point in after-sales care for the company. The greatest emphasis was put on the customer experience. We significantly decreased the amount of time needed for handling service requests by customer support. Client & Challenge Mayekawa manufactures some of the world's most advanced industrial compressors under the MYCOM brand. The company was established in 1924 and started the business with ice manufacturing and cold storage for professional use. Their mission is to create a sustainable future by pursuing optimal systems, equipment, and technology while working side-by-side with customers. Mayekawa reached Gecko Dynamics looking for a reliable partner that will help with bringing to the market their new spare parts portal. The goal was to automate the process of order & delivery when any replacement part is needed by a customer. Software is used by branches in the US, Canada, and Mexico. The customer can log in to the platform, find the exact model of the compressor by a serial number or parameters. After finding the right model, customers can choose needed part by simply pointing it on 3d schema. Then the order can be placed and the purchase order will be processed automatically. There is no longer a need for calling customer care to order a part, the whole process is simplified for both sides. Their goal for digital transformation is to simplify processes and be one step ahead of the competitors. Solution The platform is made from two main components: The customer module which enables clients to purchase parts and make orders, and the second part that is dedicated to customer care. Every time when the order is placed, the system is creating a ticket for customer care personnel. The availability of the required part is checked after that offer is created and send to the client. All data is synchronized with the existing SAP system, Sage 300, and the Epicore. Nowa (https://www.nowa360.com/en/) is a Montreal-based company providing water-leak prevention hardware systems for various types of buildings (industrial & residential). They own several hardware systems as they flag products. We developed a complete software system that consists of a web portal, mobile application, and integration with hardware devices that are installed on the water pipes to measure the water pressure and detect the potential leak on that basis, and alerts the property owner / manager about the potential water leak. Problem Nowa, a Canadian company specializing in smart water damage protection, required a platform to manage and control their advanced water protection systems. Nowa’s mission is to continually develop innovative solutions that protect buildings and infrastructure from water damage. The main challenge was to create unique data exchange models between servers and devices that will be resistant to any unexpected situation like lack of internet connectivity or power supply due to water leaks, fire, or any other unexpected situations. Solution Once the Gecko Dynamics team fully understood the requirements and outlined the desired functionality, a series of tailored features were developed. Our development team designed and built a cloud-based platform with advanced features, including device integration, system alert notifications, a detailed user role management system, remote control and unified device management, and real-time server-device communication. By implementing these features, the platform became resilient to power shortages, floods, and fire, ensuring smooth operation even in critical conditions. Gecko Dynamics continues to enhance the platform, collaborating with Nowa to introduce new features and improve system functionality. Solution The functionality of web & mobile applications includes: - Remote control of the devices and their sensors (switching on/off, opening & closing the valve, turning off the alarm, and many others) - Creating external API enabling other parties to integrate with the software - Multiple user roles (super admin, admin, dealer, property manager, facility owner, API user, and a few more) with a dynamic permission matrix - Overview and management of all the devices owned by the user - List and an interactive map of the buildings & properties in which the devices are installed - Integration with AWS IoT - Managing multiple properties & buildings under the same account - Multi-factor authentication - Remote programming of action chains of the devices - Offline support One of the biggest challenges for the project was how to provide offline support (e.g. when the electricity goes down and there is no internet) because a lack of server & hardware connection in case of a water leak might result in severe financial losses for the facility.
